Two Individuals Accused In Connection With Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident
Two individuals are now facing charges in connection with a luggage theft where a substance thought to be pepper spray led to people being hurt at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two robbery charges and charges for deploying a toxic agent, authorities have stated.
The charges follow an investigation into an attack at the parking structure at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, police said.
A young child was caught up in the incident in the event. Several persons were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.
The incident – which authorities stated was isolated and not considered a terror-related act – caused train delays and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a brief period.
