The rising star boasts considerable social media audience
The young golfer will have numerous high-profile backers as she starts her first LPGA appearance on Thursday.
This teenage golfer, who happens to be connected to a former US president, obtained a special exemption to participate at the Annika competition in Florida.
Her grandfather, a passionate golfer, owns several courses worldwide and often plays against Kai.
"He's fairly competent. I can't say much but we play tight competitions," she stated.
Kai explained that Trump, who won't be present, counseled her: "Just avoid anxiety."
"My grandpa essentially told me to play and enjoy myself," she added.
"In my eyes, he's simply a regular grandfather. He won't be there for the tournament. He's busy with running the country, making him somewhat preoccupied."
While still amateur, the golfer has played in a mere three competitions recently and has the 461st position in AJGA standings.
However she's able to seek guidance from Tiger Woods, who is dating Kai's mother.
"He is the greatest golfer worldwide," the young golfer said.
"And he's a superior individual. He advised me to compete, relax, and go with the flow."
The golfer will compete against multiple top competitors in women's golf at this tournament, including second-ranked the champion, England's golfer Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.
Tournament organizers mentioned that Kai's presence helps introduce the sport to new audiences, especially reaching younger fans.
Kai has substantial online presence and has started a personal fashion and living brand.
She begins at 17:30 GMT.
