Zaher Ibrahim
An Palestinian-American adolescent after completing a nine-month period in Israeli detention without being charged has been freed.
Mohammed Ibrahim was 15 during his detention last February throughout the West Bank territory, while he was vacationing on holiday from Florida for allegedly throwing stones against settlement residents, which he previously denied.
American diplomatic officials said it welcomed Mohammed's liberation.
Mohammed, now 16, was taken to hospital for treatment immediately after release, family members reported.
According to them, he appears pale, underweight, and is suffering from conditions contracted in captivity.
Through an official statement, Mohammed's uncle spoke of the family's "overwhelming sense of relief".
Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "living a horrific and endless nightmare" during the entire detention period.
"Currently, our priority is ensuring Mohammed receives urgent medical care he needs following exposure to harsh conditions and brutal treatment over several months."
The state department announced ongoing to provide consular support to Mohammed's family.
{"US government authorities gives utmost importance to ensuring the safety of American nationals"," officials stated.
A group of American legislators had signed a letter to diplomatic officials and the administration, urging greater action to release him.
Mr Ibrahim, a father-of-four operating an ice cream shop from Florida, previously claimed Mohammed acknowledged allegations to throwing stones due to physical abuse.
He had not seen or communicated with his son since the arrest, receiving updates exclusively what had happened to him in detention through court documents.
The teenager remained lacking indictment within Ofer penitentiary in the West Bank.
It is also home to adult prisoners, some of whom have been convicted for major terrorist activities including killings.
There are around several hundred young Palestinian detainees currently imprisoned in Israel, per correctional service statistics.
Numerous remain uncharged along with monitoring agencies, including UN bodies, say some have suffered abuse and torture.
Following Mohammed's release, the uncle stated relatives would persist in advocating demanding accountability for their family member their cousin Sayfollah.
The 20-year-old dual US citizen per medical officials died from beating by radical settlers following tensions last July.
Initially, defense forces stated authorities were looking into information regarding a civilian had been killed.
The two cousins collaborated in the family ice cream shop based in Florida.
No charges have been filed regarding Sayfollah's death.
"We anticipate the American government to safeguard our relatives," the uncle stated.
