La Petite Maison's Bikini – The Method

We present a simplified take on a drink from our latest drinks list. This is a large-volume pre-mixed which is packed with the essence of a Christmas time, making it perfect for a holiday party. Save the extra syrup for morning drinks, desserts, or for more rounds of this cocktail.

The Bikini Cocktail

Makes enough for 10 servings

To make the Citrus Syrup (makes 750ml)

300ml recently pressed clementine juice
200ml recently pressed lemon juice
500g caster sugar

To make the Premix (produces 850ml, enough for 10)

400ml decent vodka
100ml classic gin
150ml peach liqueur
200ml citrus syrup (see above)
Fresh cranberries, to garnish
Mandarin essential oil, as a final touch

Instructions

Making the Citrus Syrup: Place the listed ingredients in a pot, heat until it reaches a light boil, agitating to dissolve. After that, turn off the heat allowing it to cool down entirely. Decant into a clean bottle, seal keeping it in the fridge, it will last for around four weeks.

To make Batch Mix: Mix the specified spirits and syrup into a large bottle, leave to sit for 60 minutes, then strain best through cheesecloth, to ensure it's perfectly clear.

To serve: Measure 85ml of your cocktail base into your cocktail shaker containing ice, and stir carefully for a minute to cool it down. Strain into a frosted cocktail glass or a similar vessel, decorate with a few cranberries and complete it by giving it a quick spritz with the mandarin essence above the glass.
