The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities confirmed on Wednesday night. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash near Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recovering from minor injuries, his management team stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

Remembering the Victims

Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the loss of his two dear friends.”
